Dr. Dorcas Kiplagat
Global Associate Emeritus and Advisor, East Africa

Our newest Global Associate, Dr. Dorcas Jepkuruny Kiplagat joins us from her home city of Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Kiplagat has been the coordinator of the African Women of Faith Network (AWFN), which is part of the Religions for Peace Global Network. It was in this position of coordinator that Dr. Kiplagat was the Chief Representative of AWFN in Africa. Ms. Kiplagat has a wealth of experience as an educator having taught at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, several intermediate colleges and regional high schools within Kenya. It was during her time at the Highway Secondary School in Nairobi, Kenya that Dr. Kiplagat became impassioned about serving her community beyond the classroom, having been touched by the crippling effects of poverty on academic achievement and the social adjustment of the young people she interacted with and taught. Dr. Kiplagat's involvement in community service has allowed her to focus on working with rural women and youth in the areas of HIV/AIDS awareness and poverty alleviation.
