Yusuph Masanja
Co-Facilitator, Global Alumni Network

Yusuph Masanja is the 2018 Goldin Global Fellow from Tanzania and a co-facilitator of the Global Fellows programme. He works with the Goldin Institute team to coordinate the Global Alumni Network through alumni engagement activities. Previously, Yusuph served his community by working with different humanitarian and environmental organizations such as: Global compassion (coordinating intercultural exchange programs between American and Tanzanian students), Global Network of Religions for Children (ending violence against children), Nipe Fagio (promoting good waste management practices) and the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots&Shoots (coordinating environmental conservation and animal welfare programs with schools). He currently supports and advises on the boards of several nonprofits in his community.

His passion for social change was inspired by the statement from his role model, Dr. Jane Goodall “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.”

Yusuph has recently been appointed to be the ClimateForce Ambassador to Tanzania by Robert Swan following his participation in the 2019 Arctic Expedition and his continued efforts in promoting sustainability ideas.

“Working with the Goldin Global Fellows from all over the globe has taught me a lot about the power of grassroots leadership in making community driven social change. I am so proud that promoting grassroots partnerships is now part of my mission.”
